Yarrow flowers (Achillea millefolium of the Aster Family) dependably broadcast truth, discipline, valor, mastery, fortification, and community (millefolium means “thousand leaves”).  Yarrow flowerheads are beautifully composed of overlapping composite flowers growing in a flat-topped cluster or umbel shape.  Each flower features a central disk of white or cream-colored, five-lobed tubular florets rimmed by ray florets either in white, yellow, or rosy tones.

While similar, the flowers comprising each flowerhead are not identical, reminding us that as we come together as a community to work towards a greater good, we each bring our unique experiences and energy.  Moreover, with white yarrow in particular, we are reminded that we are at once divinely perfect, and as yet emergent, in the sense that most are here seeking additional experiences.  As we enjoy our own experiences and journeys and honor each other’s, our path unfolds more merrily and harmoniously.

Yarrow flowers emit and encourage a strong sense of true yet gentle mastery.  In their presence, we can be reminded that our true nature is one of limitless capabilities and wisdom.  We can sense that same gentle mastery when viewing deer browsing or playing safely and happily in their natural habitat.  Yarrow, particularly white, can also encourage truth and integrity, assist us in establishing spiritual and inner discipline, and help us to see “the bigger picture”.  Often, even in the toughest of times, there is more going right in our experience than not, and as ascension-seekers, we benefit greatly from diligently looking for what is going right.  During challenging times, we can remind ourselves that we chose to come here to experience and create, and coach ourselves onward and forward.  Yarrows are perennial flowers, and as we master the gift of advanced and elevated sight, it is perennially ours.

There are three or more cycles of protective bracts supporting the flowerheads and indeed, yarrow flowers offer a protective influence, born of their architecture and their ability to augment our energy fields or auras.  All emanations have vibrations and structures, so those that could be unhelpful can be interrupted, dispersed, and diminished by opposing, beneficial vibrations and structures.  Many things can augment our vibrations to thwart unhelpful or de-evolutionary influences, and many things can be directly protective, including yarrow.  Yarrow flowers can also help us find our center and establish emotional fortification, safeguarding us from unhelpful emotions, whether generated within or without.  Another flower with this quality is gardenia, covered in Volume 2 of this work.

While all natural colors of yarrow are helpful, white-colored yarrow flowers can be protective against a wide variety of unhelpful emanations and influences and offer a purifying resonance that helps raise our internal goodwill that expands outward.  Pink-colored yarrow flowers have a particularly supportive influence that helps disarm or shield us from pessimistic or downbeat sentiments.  Yellow-colored yarrow flowers can offer additional brightness to our outlook, both individually as well as collectively.

The edges of yarrow petals are “sporked”, looking like a spoon and fork combined, encouraging in us an increased ability to “take in”, understand, and successfully address a wide variety of experiences.  Another favorable aspect of yarrow includes the fern-like and feathery leaves.  As yarrow is growing and we see the fern-like leaves develop, we receive another reminder of divine paradox: the unveiling of true power through softness and grace.

Yarrow therefore, could rightly be considered a flower of fundamental importance and benefit as we pursue our ascensional path.  As we embark on improvement, we often face those things that impede our progress so we can finally be liberated from their encumbrance.  All flowers can be helpful in transcending these obstructive influences, with yarrow flowers as well as Brassicas, roses, calendula, comfrey, and garlic being particularly beneficial.  Flowers can help to maintain a sacred space for us to recall and reclaim our divine gentleness and innocence, as well as our natural power.

Mastery tips: Additional things that can augment our vibrations include feelings of hope, faith, joy, unconditional love, and gratitude, plus spending time in Nature, being with and honoring animals, and by means of unadulterated, natural items, including plants, herbs, natural essential oils (aromatherapy), flower essences, purified crystals, etc.  Additionally, being amongst evergreens can be incredibly therapeutic.  Viewing flowers in the moonlight, especially pink or white yarrow, can bring a special blessing, especially when we are working on transcending anger, resentment, and unforgiveness.  The sensations of truth, valor, and mastery emanated by white yarrow flowers especially are so evident and enduring that they can still be felt while collecting the seeds from dried flowerheads.  Although working with fresh flowers is ideal, this prevailing quality along with their sturdiness could be why dried yarrow stems are commonly used in crafts and in the I Ching.
